I feel so lost now without Steve there to guide me. If I was his “right-hand” he was my whole left arm. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work for, with and beside him for the few short years I did. Steve was always there for me. He taught me more than I could have ever hoped to know about love, life, patience, taxes, bookkeeping, computers and politics… Who knew taxes could be so exciting! We worked together relatively seamlessly, almost like we could read each others minds. Often I would be looking for a file or scrap of paper in his office, I’d stop and say to myself “Think like Steve!” – I usually found what I was looking for instantly. I enjoyed our long talks, his insight went very deep – even though we didn’t always agree on everything we always came to a point of meeting in the middle. Steve took good care of me and my family. I will always love, honor and respect him for that.

A dear friend once told me that embedded within the word “disabled” is the word “able”. Steve proved that to the world. Steve faced so few real obstacles – he beat the odds and lived a full and satisfying life.

note to Steve: What the hell did you go and pull this shit for!! You left a pile on your desk!! AArrrgghhhhh!!!! Rest in eternal peace Steve Caudle – mentor, buddy, friend

Steve, you were one of the first people we met when moving to Arkansas in 1996 and instantly became a best friend, our CPA and for the last 6 years our landlord…sharing a duplex. We can’t tell you how much we will miss you. Our hearts are broken but our lives enriched for having known you and having become such good friends. We’ll greatly miss our talks and so much more. We always felt a lot taller when we’d mention you are our friend, sooo many people loved you. We could go on and on about your great qualities and how you added sunshine to our days but will close for now. We won’t say good-bye but “SEE YOU AGAIN SOME DAY” dear friend and confidant.

Every year when tax time would roll around, I never felt dread because I knew that I would get to see Steve and we would have our laughs and our conversation time. It never seemed like Steve was my accountant but more like family. We would catch up on how the past year went and I would always update him on how the VA was doing. I don’t think I’ve ever sent a Christmas card to any other tax accountant before Steve. I may not have been one of Steve’s real family members or best friends, but I feel true loss upon finding out about his passing. My heart goes out to the family and I pray God wraps you in love and comfort.

    Caudle family and wonderful staff,
Steve did our tax returns and provided advice for the 20 years we have been living in the hills east of WF. He was a friend, a trusted consultant and to say he will now be missed is a serious understatement. How in the heck are we supposed to figure out where the 6 or 8 items on this K-1 are to integrated into our return? Would you please come to any IRS audit anyway?

May God bless his family, friends and colleagues.

Nieta and Sam-Steve surpassed many obsticles and still was a wonderful person. I love his humor. Most I remember him wanting to ride my horse and I would take him for a ride down the street. I will never forget that.
Then for the last many years he has taken care of me with my taxes and advised on fiances. He always took the time to reflect on the past and advise about the present and future.
I always looked forward to that yearly visit with Steve. And I feel sure Steve has taken care of us for the future for who ever takes over his chair.

Steve you are finally Home and resting. Hope to see you again.

I wish the world could’ve gotten the chance to meet and know Steve. He was such and great and honorable man. Stuck to his word, put his friends family first and foremost. Left no blanks empty. Never beat around the bush, told you how it was. Always there to deal out advice and always there to lift you up. My mom and I visited some of his close friends yesterday. The sadness in their eyes made me fall apart inside. The tone in their voice made me heavy at the heart. I loved Steve like he was my closest and dearest friend. I’ve sat in his office for countless hours telling him stories, and him sharing some back. I am so happy he was able to come to my wedding and share that so special day with me and mine. I pray wherever he is now, that he is happy, healthy and youthful. He deserves all the best heaven can give him. God blessed you Steve and he blessed me for bringing you into my families life.
