Thomas Garner March 30, 1938 ~ December 9, 2012

Thomas Garner, 74 of Farmington died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1938 in York, Nebraska to Willey and Esthu Garner. He served in the U.S Army for 25 years and retired as Sargent First Class where he served two tours in Vietnam. He also worked for the U.S Post Office in Fort Smith for 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Yong Garner of the home; son, Sam Garner and wife Hanh Bui of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Betty Garner and husband Joshua Carlsen of Germany, Amy Justice and husband Christopher of Allen, Texas and Mona Garner of Austin, Texas; two daughters Carole and Lynn; brother, Allen Garner of Joplin, Missouri; sister, Helen of Geneva, Nebraska; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. Private burial will be at held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.     I am very sorry for your loss. Tom was a good man. I enjoyed the times we went out to eat and was glad we could share this Thanksgiving with him. God bless you all in your time of sadness.

    I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my dad, Suk I hope and prayer for comfort for you and your family at this time. I had not had the priveledge of seeing or talking with Dad for some time, but Carole always kept me posted on how you all were doing. It is my beleif that I will one day see him, and will enjoy my time with him again in Heaven. May the Lord be with you in this time of sorrow. I will keep you all in my prayers.

    Condolences to the Garner family for your loss. Tom was a very nice person and I, a retired Mail Carrier from Fort Smith, Ar. and many others who worked with him or had the chance to meet him at the GMF Postal facility in Fort Smith Ar., remember him as well.
