She was born in Ordway, Colorado on April 5th, 1931, to Joseph and Ruby Catherine (Shafer) Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, six brothers and three sisters. Shirley is survived by her three sons, Larry Mills and Jim Mills of Fayetteville, and Kevin Mills and wife Cheryl of Lincoln; two granddaughters, Wendy Mae Clanton and Jimisa Mills-Springer;  five great-granddaughters, Susan, Karlee, Haley, Anna and Erika, and three sisters. I dearly loved aunt Shirley. She was such a wonderful, sweet and caring woman. She had great strength, demonstrated by the way she never complained even though she was in pain. I am so glad I had the priviledge of getting to know and love her. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. My deepest sympathy to all of the Mills family.

Aunt Shirley was one fine lady! She was always so good to us and glad to see us. She made us feel welcome and glad to be a part of this family. Her deep love for her sons and grandchildren was very visible to all – she was proud of her family! She was loved very much and will be missed, but will always be in everyone’s hearts! God bless Shirley Mills and the Mills family.

Aunt Shirley is one of those very rare people who uplift you with their incredible kindness and positive attitude. From my first memory of her when I was a young boy to just a few weeks ago, she always flashed that beautiful smile and had genuine interest in whatever I might be doing. She had wonderful virtues of patience and empathy and loved conversation whether they were light or deep. She was witty, intelligent and just plain fun to be around. I miss you Aunt Shirley and selfishly wish you were still here with us. But God had plans for you and I’m sure you’re enjoying your reunion with Uncle Ralph or so many others. Your good work here will always be remembered and appreciated. Love you Aunt Shirley.

I think Mr. Kenny Mills said it very well. Whenever I was around Shirley I saw her doing as Christ would do. She was a true good human being and a great cheerleader for Jesus((: She just showed very admirable qualities in everyday life. I am sorry y’all are in pain now but we know that pain will go away and how joyful we’ll be together in the hereafter. I pray for the comfort and solace that only the Lord can give you. I will always have Grandma Shirley in my heart.
