James Wesley Rhyne, March 22, 1932~November 1, 2014

James Wesley Rhyne, 82, of Winslow, died November 1, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born March 22, 1932 in Bowie, Texas to John William and Mary Agnes McClendon Rhyne.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a self- employed truck driver, farmer and worked several years as janitor at the post office.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Rena Rhyne; four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley  Ann Houston Rhyne of the home;  two sons, Rodger Dale Rhyne and wife, Daisy of Huffman, Texas; and Wesley Kent Rhyne of Winslow;  daughter, Kendra Kelley and husband, John of Dixon, Missouri; six grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and his beloved dog, Teddy Bear.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Winslow with Rev. Gregg Dold officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P.M. at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

    I am very sorry for your loss. I had a lot of respect for James “Pa pa”. He was a good man.I enjoyed the times I got to spend with him. I will always remember a story he told me….he was at the hospital and someone said something about his age. His response was “yeah my skin don’t fit anymore.”
