Tommy and Sherry, you have lost a wife and mother and I lost a wonderful old friend. My thoughts go back to ’59 when we moved to Texarkana and I first met Shirley. She lived 2 doors away and became a fast friend immediately. In the year we lived there, we saw each other practically every day, going shopping or just visiting. I was so homesick for Tyler and she filled a void for me. Sherry was just a toddler and Gary had just started school and Kay was 4. We maintained this friendship all these years even though we didn’t see each other often. Goodbe Shirley. I loved you like a sister. Lovingly, Jeanette.

Sherry and family…we are sorry for the loss of your beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Shirley always made us feel welcome in her home. We will always remember her beautiful voice, hearty laugh and engaging way of telling stories. She once gave me a fistful of Cypress vine seeds…they come back year after year and l always think of all of you when I see them.

    Love, Kathleen and Marion

Thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family. Miss Shirley was one in a million- true class act. She was so generous, kind and loving- true inspiration. I thought of her and Tom so much and I know this time is difficult but she is watching over us all and giving us a little nudge in the direction she wants us to go. One of the most genuine ladies I had the privilege to work with at the store. Will be surely missed but never forgotten!

I only became friends with Shirley over the past three years and found her to be such a beautiful lady, always smiling. When I met Shirley for the first time through her daughter Sherry, I remembered her from the days when she worked at Wal-Mart. Always dressed to the “nines” and big smile on her face. Once you met Shirley you never forgot her, such a gracious lady. She winged her way to heaven indeed. Prayers for Tom and her amazing daughter and son-in-law.
    Love to all….Jerry and Bettye
