Ralph “Rusty” Cook, 74, of Fayetteville died Saturday, December 5, 2015 in Fayetteville.  He was born December 30, 1940 in Kingston, AR. to William Fred and Betsy Pharris Cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Maxine Shadrick Ficht Cook.

He is survived by his children, Shane Cook and wife, Kym of Prairie Grove, Gregg Cook and wife, Katheryn of Lincoln, Melva Howard and husband, Terry of Fayetteville and Marsha Shaver and husband, Gary of Kingston; a sister, Wanda Friend of Huntsville; grandchildren, Layce Uhl and husband, Michael Law, Sr., Cristen Hamilton and husband, James, Garran Shaver, Marla Shaver, Alex Cook, Greggory (Joseph) Cook, Annabeth, Wade, Raelynn and Silas Cook, Jessica Goodwin and Rachel Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Nicholas and Derek Law, Hailey Stout, Layten Vice and Kane Johnson.

There are no scheduled services.

Private interment will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

    So very sorry for your loss. I knew Rusty since I was a child & will always have fond memories of him daring Geneva to stand on her head & she did right out in Fred & Betsy’s yard when we went with Grandma Mary to visit. I’m 68 now & was about 9 or so at that time. I hope you have good memories to help you through the tough times as they’ve helped me in the past. Deepest sympathy & love to you all.

    Thanks Carlene, Mom and Rusty were quite the pair. I had so much fun with both of them growing up. Love you always
