Donald Ray Turner, October 1, 1940~December 10, 2016

turner-donald-copyDonald Ray Turner, 76, of Lowell passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at his home. He was born October 1, 1940 in Houston, TX. to Daniel and Clarice Bundick Turner.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; worked as a deckhand on a tugboat for Parker Brothers for 22 years; he brought joy and always had a good word for anyone he met; loved the ocean; and loved woodworking.

He is survived by a daughter, Jean Generau of Lowell.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Beard’s Chapel with Michael Cooper officiating.

Inurnment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

In lieu of flowers to remember Don, donations may be made to the City of Lowell Senior Center in his name.

    Don was a good friend and neighbor I will miss seeing him on his porch every day. Loved visiting with him and listening to his stories about his work and growing up in Texas. Sending thoughts and prayers to Jeannie and family.
