Paul Douglas Scaggs, December 5, 1952~January 28, 2018

Scaggs copyPaul Douglas Scaggs, 65, of Springdale, died Sunday, January 28, 2018. He was born on December 5, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Johnie & Jane Scaggs.

Paul graduated from West Plains High School in 1971 and married Pamela Scaggs on December 1, 1975. He graduated Crowder College in 1985 with Transport Training and was a professional truck driver for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Scaggs; his mother Jane Scaggs; three daughters: Lori (Daniel) Justice, Leanne (Moisés) Colón & Lisa (Jesse) Bond; four grandchildren: Luke, Caleb, William & Lillyanna; one sister, Vera (Bill) Alsup; four brothers: Johnie James (Nancy) Scaggs, Guy (Betsy) Scaggs, George (Leslie) Scaggs & Lee Scaggs; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul’s father preceded him in death.

Paul will be remembered for his joy. He often had a smile on his face and he shared that joy with others by just being himself. He’d tell jokes, ask you to sit and watch a western (John Wayne & Bonanza were his favorites) and treat strangers like they were family. Paul did not know how to contain his joy, he shared it with everyone. You did not have to know Paul for him to talk to you, he was the kind of guy that would strike up a conversation with the check-out clerk, the waiter, the bank teller, it didn’t matter. He knew how to have friendly conversations with them all. Every year, when asked what he wanted for Christmas, his response was to be able to spend time with his family. He never needed or wanted anything, but to have the joy of those he loved around him.

The viewing will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. with the funeral services following at 10:00 A.M. at Mount Comfort Church of Christ, 3249 W. Mount Comfort Rd, Fayetteville, AR 72704.

The Burial Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Barnett Cemetery, 7702-7710 State Hwy EE, West Plains, MO 65775.
