Orren Henry “Dago” Minnick, 55, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Springdale. He was born October 29, 1956 in Denver, Colorado the son of Robert L. and Annie A. Villalabos Minnick.
Orren was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his daughters, Tereasa Minnick, Samantha Minnick, Kimberly Minnick and Jeraldine Minnick all of Fayetteville; 2~brothers, Robert Minnick of Prairie Grove and James Albert Minnick of Taylorsville, Utah; 1~sister, Katherine “Kathy” Watson of Prairie Grove; 5~grandchildren, April Greenlee, Davis Minnick, Natalie Greenlee, Karla Colston and Selena Sisco.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville with Pastor John Antony officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fayetteville.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. ~ 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Bennie James Harris, 82 of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in Fayetteville. He was born July 29, 1930 in Elkins the son of Bryan and Pearl Long Harris.
He worked for Saint Louis County Police Department, retired from the University of Arkansas, retired from Sears and also retired from Big 8 Tire.
He was a member of the Baldwin Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his son, Gary Harris and granddaughter, Danielle Nichole Harris and 3 sisters and 1~brother.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Oxford Harris of Fayetteville to whom he was married for 55 years; daughter, Sherry Carroll of Springdale; granddaughters, Stephanie Mounce and husband, Jeremy of Springdale and Katy Carroll of Springdale; 2~great-grandsons, Cooper Mounce and Peyton Murray.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 10, 2012 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Warford officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2~4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Ritchie, 68, of Winslow passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Winslow. She was born December 28, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina the daughter of Vincent and Kathleen Garate South.
Patricia was a Truck Driver for CJF Inc. of West Siloam Springs, OK and attended the Blackburn Community Church and also was a member of ASPCA.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Ritchie of the home; 3~sons, Floyd Chavious, Jr., Jerry Wayne Chavious and Timothy Chavious all of Winslow; 2~daughters, Gwendolyn Ambrose of Winslow and Patricia Ambrose of Fayetteville; 2~step-sons, Hugh John Ritchie of Virginia and Ule Sam Ritchie of Ohio; 1~brother, Mike South of Lexington, South Carolina; 1~sister, Kathy Fish of Ohio; 6 grandchildren; many friends and avid animal lover.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5~7 PM at the funeral home.
Harriet Ann Vanstone Vernon, 96, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 in Fayetteville. She was born November 30, 1915 in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of Harold and Marion Morrill Vanstone.
She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fayetteville and was active in League of Women Voters and NOW. She had her masters degree in library science from the University of Michigan and had a career as Librarian at the University of Arkansas.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas Vernon.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Vernon Crookshank of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Virginia Lipson and husband, Howard of Bolder, CO; 2-grandchildren and 2-great-grandchildren.
She was a loving, thoughtful and wonderful person and will be missed so very much by her two daughters.
Reception in her memory will be from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Convocation Room at Butterfield Trail Village 1923 E. Joyce Blvd. Fayetteville, AR 72703

Nell Ray, 91, of Fayetteville, AR died August 12, 2012 at Fayetteville City Hospital, her home for over twelve years.
Nell was born October 22, 1920 in West Fork, AR the daughter of Garland and Ada Carter. She married Maurice Ray on February 4th, 1942.
She was a member of the West Fork Presbyterian Church, President of the Missionary Society, Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Daughters of Demeter, the University of Arkansas Women’s Club and secretary for the West Fork School Superintendent.
Nell loved to quilt, cross stitch, and sew. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Garland and Ada Carter, her husband, Dr. Maurice L. Ray; two brothers, Hearl and Tom Carter and two sisters, Thelma Williams and Mary Threlkeld.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Crider and husband, Marion of West Fork, two sons, David Ray of West Fork and John Ray of Fayetteville, two grandsons, Lane Crider and his wife, Stacy of Fayetteville, AR and Marcus Crider and his wife, Christy of Nashville, TN; one granddaughter, Kelsey Ray of Springdale; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Tuck Crider of Fayetteville and Cole and Lydia Crider of Nashville, TN; a sister-in-law, Muriel Sperduto and her husband, Ted of Springfield, VA, many nieces and nephews and her extended family at Fayetteville City Hospital.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday; August 18, 2012 at the chapel of Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Carter Threlkeld officiating.
Burial will be in the West Fork Cemetery.
Darwin (Shorty) Wallace Bolstad, 65 of Fayetteville went to meet his heavenly father on July 14, 2012. He was the last survivor of his 4 siblings. He was born August 3, 1946 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Walter and Lillian Bolstad. Darwin retired from Hiland Dairy after 22 years of service and then was owner and operator of Shorty’s Mobile Wash where he developed several clients in the Northwest Arkansas area. He was also a Volunteer Firefighter for the Wedington Fire Department for several years. He enjoyed his grandchildren, motorcycle rides with his family and many friends thru the Ozarks, sand- railing, boating and camping with family. He also enjoyed CB radios where his handle was Jackknife. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Virgil, Laverne and Lester Bolstad; sister, Leona Harworth and his grandparents who were immigrants from Norway. Surviors include his wife, of 47 years, Ivy Bolstad of the home; daughter, Pam Bolstad Asher of Farmington; son, Tim Bolstad of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Amberly and Whitney Asher of Farmington, Nick Bolstad of Tulsa and Justin Bolstad of Fayetteville and his extended family from his hometown of Fergus Falls, Minnesota as well as Northwest, Arkansas include many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM. Vayle Ronald Lynch left this life on July 10, 2012, after 94 years. He entered this life on October 22, 1917 along with his twin Dayle. They were the 6th and 7th of 8 siblings born to Charles Hayes and Belle Gray Lynch. He is survived by Charl Marie Stepp Lynch who he married on April 22, 1944. They worked side by side farming for most of their 68 years together. Children include Doyle and his wife Beth, Bonnie Baker and husband Don, Bobby, and Vonnon Sisemore and wife Pat. He had four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two step grandchildren. He was the last survivor of the eight siblings. He left this life assured that the next one would be in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM at Beard’s Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 13, 2012 with Dr. Andrew Hall officiating. Burial will be at McCord cemetery in Elkins.
Bennie M. Blair, 94 of Prairie Grove passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1917 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Fred and Lydia Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edna Blair, 1~son, Tommy Blair and 1~ daughter, Virginia Huckaby, 2 brothers, Homer Blair and Alvis Blair and sister, Stella McCauley. Survivors include his 2 sons, Bill Blair and wife Lois and Darrell Blair both of Prairie Grove; daughter, Venita Baker of St. Paul; 11 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Don Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel
Ernest Eugene Carr, 56 of Fayetteville, Arkansas was peacefully called by his Heavenly Father to come home on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Ernest was born March 24, 1956 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to the proud parents of Jack & Ernestine Carr. Ernest attended Fayetteville High West Campus, where he specialized in building trades and sports, he eventually proceeded to become bi-state champion in wrestling; his primary occupation was with West Tree Company. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, G.W. Dowell & Roberta Weaver; parents Jack and Ernestine Carr; aunt, Harriet A. Wright and sister-in-law, Phyllis Carr. Survivors include his 3 sons, Jarvis Carr of Fayetteville, Michael Carr and wife Debbie of Winslow, Kiano Cooper of Burlington, IA; daughter, Alesha Carr of Elm Springs; 4 brothers, Terry and Jeff Carr both of Fayetteville, Richard Carr and wife Wendy also of Fayetteville and Kelly Carr and wife Kathy of Springdale; sister, Juanita Carr of Little Rock; uncle, Lamont Wright of Fayetteville; his ex-wife, Gwyn Carr of Fayetteville, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends. Juana Florence “Flossie” Garriott, 77, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Fayetteville. She was born February 14, 1935 in Crosses, AR the daughter of Amos and Anna Patrick Jordan.
She was a Christian; worked for the NWA Times and was retired from Modern Fence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and sister, Jeraldine Foster.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carlos Garriott of the home; her children, Rocky Garriott, Carma Garriott Lewis and Larry Garriott and wife, Luana, her sisters, Janie Williams, Joy Ashworth, June Long and husband, Bobby and Janice Myers and husband, Jimmy; her grandchildren, Jason Garriott, James Garriott, Katie Garriott, Matthew Garriott, Anna Lewis and Cora Lewis.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Round Mountain Cemetery with Cotton Presley officiating.
