    Oscar Justin “OJ” Daniel, 92 of Fayetteville was born August 19, 1917 in Blue
Mountain, AR and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 30, 2010 at
Washington Regional Medical Center.
      He was preceded in death by wife, Norma J. Daniel in 1989 and his son, Justin
Wayne Daniel in 2006.
      OJ was a veteran of War World II and had the rank of Master Sargent and was the
head of the motor pool. He crossed the English Channel six times while in the service.
After getting out of the service, OJ went to work at Chrysler & Dodge Co. After working
several years there, he open his own garage; OJ’s Auto Service. Until he retired many
years later OJ was one of the best mechanics in Fayetteville and had a reputation as
the most honest and could fix anything. OJ was a good man & father & husband. He
loves to be with his grandson, Dan which was handicapped; and spent many days with
him. Dan was the apple of his eye. He was also very proud of his granddaughter,
Brooke. He would talk of what a good girl she was; and, about her getting two degrees
in college and having a very good job in Dallas.
      OJ loved his family and we will greatly be missed; Lord please take good care of OJ!
      He has one remaining son and one remaining daughter, Morris Lane Daniel and
wife, Nita of Hindsville and Beverley Phillips and husband, Lloyd of Fayetteville;
granddaughter, Melanie Brooke Daniel of Dallas, TX and grandson, Daniel Lane
Phillips of Fayetteville; sister, Harriet Lawrence and husband, Mackie of Lubbock, TX.
      Funeral service will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Beards Chapel with
Dean Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery under
the direction of Beards Chapel.
      The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM on Monday at Beards Chapel.
      The family requests that memorials take the form of donations to Washington
Regional Medical Center Hospice, 34 Colt Square, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
