     William H. “Bill” Keen, a lifelong resident of the Baldwin Community, passed from
this life Saturday, July 10, 2010, at City Hospital in Fayetteville. Bill had fought a long
battle against multiple health issues.
      He is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Melba R. Holland Keen, 8 children,
Linda Winters (Malcolm) of Gravette, AR; Richard Keen (Lori) of Springdale, AR; Vicki
Moore (Bob) of Waldron, AR; John Keen (Sheri) of Fayetteville; Patti Keen Thomas
(Lendel, deceased), Sandi Phillips (Mike) of Ogden, UT; Randy Keen (Nancy) of
Fayetteville, Kendall Keen (Susan) of Fayetteville; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-
grandchildren; brothers, Roy Richard keen (deceased), Charles Keen and Robert
Keen; and sister, Sue Witte, and numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and
grandnephews.
      Bill was born in Fayetteville, AR on November 20, 1925 to Walter H. and Anna Mae
Cline Keen. He grew up on a farm in the Baldwin area. As a young man he joined the
CCC and worked in the Western United States. Bill was a veteran of World War II
serving in the European Theater in the 63rd reconnaissance troop under General
Patton. He went to work for the Farmers Coop after his discharged from the Army then
started at the US Post office in 1957. He retired in 1985 after 30 years as a rural
mailman.
      Bill was a member of the Baldwin Church of Christ and enjoyed the fellowship and
visits of his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Bill loved hunting, fishing, taking long
drives through the Ozark hills and chocolate pie. He would tell everyone how proud he
was of his eight kids and their families.
      Funeral service will be 10AM, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Baldwin Church of Christ
with burial to follow in Hester Cemetery under the direction of Beards Chapel.
      The family will receive friends from 5 to 8PM on Monday, July 12th at Beards
Chapel.
      Donations may be made in his memory to Gospel Tracks International, American
Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
