Daisy Forrester Mayes, 93, of Johnson, went to be with her Lord Monday May 31,
2010 in Fayetteville. She was born February 21, 1917 in Madison County the daughter
of William Denver and Bertha Ellen Phillips Forrester. She was retired from Forest
Park/Allen Canning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe McKee Mayes, daughter,
Connie Lou Byrd, infant son and sister, Cora Terry.
She is survived by son-in-law, Harold J. Byrd of Fayetteville; 3-grandsons, Terry D.
Byrd and wife, Linda of Springdale, Timothy S. Byrd and wife, Cathy of Farmington and
Tony C. Byrd and wife, Debra of Fayetteville; her special sister-in-law, Curmania Mayes
of Johnson; many nieces and nephews; 10 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-
grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday June 3, 2010 at Beard’s Funeral
Chapel with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Stuckey Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday June 2, 2010 from 5-7 at the funeral home.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at North
Hills Life Care and Rehab who was her adopted family.
