Leon Mitchell, 66 of West Fork died Friday, April 2, 2010 at Washington Regional
Medical Center. He was born November 27, 1943 in Fayetteville, AR the son of William
R. and Lillie Holt Mitchell.
He married the former Katharine Caudle and served in the US Navy. He was a
retired painter and was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert and 3 sisters,
Louise Thompson, Victoria Peoples, Lou Ann Grunseth. He was a 32nd Degree Mason
and a member of the Summit Lodge # 530 and Clyde Chapter #361 OES. He was
serving as Grand Chapter Beau.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Katharine Mitchell of the home; 2 sons,
William Mitchell of Bethel Heights, AR, Joseph Mitchell of Chandler, IN; brother, Jerry
Mitchell of Texas; sister, Billie Malone of Texas; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews
Funeral service will be 10AM, Monday, April 5, 2010 at Beards Chapel with Darren
Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in West Fork Cemetery under the direction of
Beards Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Beards Chapel from 4 to 6PM on Sunday.
The family requests that memorials take the form of donations to the Shriners
Hospitals for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63131-3597.
