Marie Foster Parnell 88, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at
Washington Regional Hospital. She was born May 6, 1922 in Elkins, Arkansas, the
daughter of Milton and Laura Moore Foster. She was a homemaker, worked for the
Fayetteville School System in food service, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Shirley Parnell, two brothers
Earl and Walter Foster and one sister Ruby Collins.
She is survived by her son, Larry Parnell and his wife Linda of Farmington, three
sisters: her identical twin sister Mary Gilley of Fayetteville, Thelma Heckman and
Sammie Williams both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also two grandchildren; Lance Parnell, wife
Suzy and children Courtney, Kennedy and Landrey Parnell of Cassville, Mo and
Lindsay Ramsey, husband Hal, son Drew Ramsey of Brandon, Mississippi, numerous
nieces, nephews and dear friend Jane Maloney
Funeral services will be Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Beard’s Funeral
Chapel in Fayetteville. Visitation will be Thursday July 1, 2010 from 5 to 7 PM. Burial
will be in McCord Cemetery. Dr. Gene Fulcher and Rev. Phil Misenheimer will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1410 Porter
Road, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703, in memory of Marie Parnell.
