John Paul Wood, 78, of Fayetteville died Monday May 17, 2010 in Fayetteville. He
was born February 21, 1932 in Blackoak, AR, the son of Ezra Lawson and Ilda Phillips
Wood.
He was a member of Grace Evangel Chapel Church in Greenland; retired
Fayetteville Policeman for 20 years and owned Paul’s Tractor Shop for 30 years. He
was preceded in death by a daughter, Vonda J. Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Wood of the home; 2-sons, Paul J.W. Wood and
wife, Lavinna of Springdale and Rocky L. Wood and wife, Kathy of Fayetteville; 2-
sisters, Linda Kitchens of Lawton, OK and Lorna Wilson of Springdale; grandchildren,
Christy Bailey, Eric Wood, Justin Wood, Cody Wood, Ashley Wood and Amy Wood;
great-grandchildren, Mikayla Wood, Lane Maul, Gavin Wood, Samuel Bailey and Rhys
Wood who will arrive in August.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday May 19, 2010 in Beard’s Chapel
in Fayetteville with Roger Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens
in Fayetteville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Grace Chapel Church of the local Alzheimer’s
Association.
